Calgary: Night Ten (July 12)

This is going to be short and sweet as we are headed home tomorrow, and it’s 1:33am and I have to get up tomorrow at 7am just in time to pack the rest of our belongings.

Congratulations to Kurt and Ashley Bensmiller on winning the $100,000 dash for cash for the second year in a row. Every chuckwagon driver’s dream.

Cody, our son, had his 24th birthday today so we enjoyed some cake along with our supper and we even sang.

Rick and I would like to say a HUGE thank you to Northwell Oilfield Hauling and to his crews. It takes many.

I will write again in a day or two. Looking forward to my bed at home.

Sometimes walking away has nothing to do with weakness, and everything to do with strength. We walk away not because we want others to realize our worth and value, but because we finally realize our own.

  1. We have enjoyed your travel trailer posts very much. We both came from “down south” Art was from Innicfail and I was raised on a ranch west of Wetaskiwin, my brother lives close to the old Dirchester ranch, and as a kid we had land out on the Battle river where we pastured our cattle all summer. Have lived in the Wembley, Beaverlodge area for the last fifty five years. Thank You again, We read your post first thing every morning and cheered you on from afar.

  2. Dear Rick, Sue and Crew—well done in more ways than one! The insight into the “behind the scenes” life of the Chuckwagon community leads to a greater understanding of just what it takes to pursue a passion such as this–lots of heart and soul. Truly bringing the best within oneself and teamwork needs to be the goal of each and every day for each and everyone. There is not only much to be appreciated and learned from your blogs, but so much to inspire others to pursue their passions. Many thanks for that. Just know you are giving inspiration for living life to its fullest to untold multitudes of people.
Wishing you all the very best for the rest of the season in this exciting event of racing. Our family and friends will be cheering for you and following you all the way!
3 cheers, Rick, Sue and Crew! Dolores Duncan
